living with what is

Music.. it’s this integral part of my life. There’s not a day that passes that I am not a) listening to music or b) singing on my own.

Music has infiltrated my life in the best possible way! It is always there no matter what mood i’m in or what emotion I am feeling. They are happy songs, sad songs, angry songs, thinking songs and songs of hope. 

Musicians/songwriters have the ability to put say the words I so often wish I could share.  Songs make us realize that we are not alone that other people feel the way we do. Lyrics have the ability to convey such truthfulness and tell such amazing stories that need to be told and shared. 

Musicians/artists that I listen to I don’t think you will ever fully realize the impact you have had and continue to have on my life. 

And I’m sure the fans that get the opportunity to meet you do tell you, how amazing you are and how your music impacts their lives, or at least I hope they do! Because you need to hear this. 

I know that pursuing a career in music is so hard and often such a tough decision to make, but for those of you who do! Thank you for doing it! Thank you pouring your heart and soul into something. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent with the world.

There are so many artists that don’t sell out arenas and don’t headline tours (and I really wish that you all did and that everyone knew about all artists music) , but please know that your music matters and it does affect lives!! You are incredibly talented!

So to the all musicians out there thank you for doing what you do! Your songs have touched my life and I am forever grateful for that!

To everyone reading this: please support live music and music in general. You purchasing cds, songs, concert tickets and merchandise are the reason that artists continue to get to pursue their dream.  Please realize the tireless hours that are put into creating a song or album.  You can scrap up $0.99 in any old coat pocket, use it as a Thank you to an artist who has touched your life!

so the last couple week’s have been some of the craziest in my life. 

a) I finished my undergrad degree… for the first time in forever I don’t ever have to go back to school… so weird. It’s definitely a feeling that hasn’t quite sunk in at all. It just feels like I have a bit of a break between semesters.

b) I landed a full time job… which I could not be more excited about. Because it’s doing something I love, it’s working for a company I love and it’s a huge stepping stone towards my dream job. So for someone who just graduated I’d say I am SO incredibly blessed to be having this opportunity!!! Honestly, each day I am seeing more and more why my life has taken the path it has taken and so much of it makes sense and it is all such a blessing. 

c) Tomorrow is my last day in a city where I am spent the better part of 5 years. Yes, I have lived in a million different houses and with a million different people, but so many of these experiences have been so incredible. In this city I grew into the person I am today. I came a pretty lost and naive child and I have grown and flourished. 

Yes, I stumbled along the way and yes I made mistakes but they have all brought me to this place and I am so grateful for this. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had over the past 5 years and for all the friendships I have formed. There are so many incredible people in my life and I have learned so much from all of them. 

It’s crazy to see that we are all going a million different ways and to a million different cities. Whether you are work, traveling, continuing school or just chilling out I hope you all have the most incredible summers and I hope you all stay in touch!

So many people I have met throughout my time have influenced and moulded my life. Each of you has these incredible stories and you are all so talented I know you are all destined for greatness. I want more than anything to see you all live out you dreams whatever that may be. But don’t ever be afraid to dream and don’t every let anyone think you are crazy for wanting to achieve your dreams. 

All though so much of life is a big question mark right now I am excited with all that it has to offer. I have family, friends, a job, air in my lungs, a roof over my heard and a smile on my face what else could I ask for. 

I hope that in this next chapter of my life I can continue to grow, and ward off complacency and being stagnant. I want to love my job, but I want to constantly be challenged. I want to continually pushing myself to be better and continuing to try new things. Bring on crazy adventures, new recipes,  new music and crafts! I want to create, I want to use what is around me and make it into something new. 

So future let’s bring it on!! I am ready to be friends with you. I am ready to start this new chapter. I am ready to be a big kid.
